During my time at the University of Arizona attaining my Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, I learned the tools and techniques to succeed in the fields of mathematics and physics. Something that I wasn't taught but rather discovered was my passion for the academic process itself. During my tenure as a thermodynamics preceptor I realized how rewarding it is to see others succeed as a result of my tutelage which drove me to hone my skills at teaching others. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a foundational understanding of core concepts within the material and connecting with my students on a personal level in order to tailor my teaching methods to individual students. I do not wish to simply lecture students and instead will push them to engage with the material themselves so that they can take pride in, and have a sense of ownership over, the knowledge they acquire. Additionally, I intend to ground my lessons with real world applications so that students understand the value of what they're learning and how it has lead to progress in the world around them. I am excited to share my enthusiasm with those I teach, hope to see them come away with that same enthusiasm, and wish to share in the celebration of their successes as they apply the knowledge they've gained.
