I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

I was a teacher and researcher for 4.5 years at Princeton University who taught the following classes: Pre-algebra, Algebra I/II, Precalculus, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. When teaching, I first focus on establishing a basic foundation. Using this foundation, we go step-by-step to reach the result. This allows the student to develop an innate intuition of the phenomena we are investigating and to have a clear procedure to reach the correct solution every time. Most importantly, it allows the student to methodically determine where mistakes have been made and how to rectify them.

Further, I tutored the Math Section of the SAT and the MCAT for 2 years. All students I tutored for the Math Section of the SAT scored 750 or higher. All students I tutored for the MCAT scored 511 or higher. For both standardized assessments I teach the students to understand why the correct answer is justifiably correct and why the wrong answer is justifiably incorrect. This way, the student learns to use evidence when evaluating answer choices. This method guarantees that you will either select the correct option or remove all the wrong options from contention.

Currently, I am a researcher in Mathematical Physics for the National Institute of Health and a medical student completing his MD. In my capacity as a researcher I am creating MRI machines that are compatible with medical prosthetics to make diagnostic imaging available for a wider range of patients. As a medical student I am pursuing a career in neurosurgery to develop treatments for age-related neurocognitive disorders such as Alzheimers, Parkinsons, and Schizophrenia.
