Medha: Washtenaw County tutor
Certified Tutor
I graduated from Miami University with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Computer Science. In the fall, I will begin a Masters degree in Bioinformatics at Johns Hopkins University. I have over six years of tutoring experience in many different settings including: individual, group, online, traditional classrooms, etc. I have working with students across all grade levels, including college students. While most of my experience is in Mathematics (grade school level, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Algebra), I also have tutored students in Chemistry and enjoy helping my students build strong foundations in STEM.
I am passionate about tutoring because I myself, have struggled in school in the past. With this perspective, I am able to connect with students on a unique level, understanding better how someone who is not affluent in certain subjects may think. I bring many strategies to my tutoring sessions including empathy, patience, and encouragement. My goal is to help student build confidence in their abilities and realize that they are much more capable than they realize.
My tutoring style is student-focused. I have a great deal of experience curating lesson plans to specific types of learners, paying special attention to what methods work best for each student. I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
