I have been a high school art teacher for 14 years. I have taught painting, drawing, photography, graphic design, sculpture, and art fundamentals. I have also been an online English tutor for children in China, and a school aged teacher at KinderCare. I have a Masters degree in Art Education K-12 and Studio Art from Maryville University in St. Louis. My favorite subject to tutor is art. My tutoring style is empathetic, creative, and student-centered, with a strong focus on inspiration and emotional connection. I give students opportunities to explore identity and meaning along with skill building. I encourage exploration and improvisation in my in-depth lessons. I am passionate about sharing my artistic skill and creative philosophy with students of all ages. I have had many students go on to be professional artists. Outside of school I love spending time with my 2 year old son and cooking Indian food.

I am good at waterskiing and wakeboarding. I love gardening and caring for my pet ball python, Frida. I am looking forward to going on more outdoor adventures with my son now that he is old enough. My favorite genre of book is Sci-Fi and I am obsessed with Star Wars and Star Trek. I love dressing up for Halloween, doing fun make up and Renaissance Fairs and photoshoots. I like to work in my darkroom at school with my large format camera and my art studio at home with my oil paints. My favorite things to paint are trees and portraits. I visit family in Colorado each summer.
