Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of The University of South Florida, and I have been working in Elementary Education and Computer Library Science instruction for 24 years. I have instructed grades K-5 in all subjects and intensively in Reading for the last 6 years. I also instructed students how to speak and read English online for 2 years. I currently have a valid Florida Teaching License and am certificated in Elementary Education and Library Media Science. I also hold an endorsement in Reading, ESOL and Civics. Lastly, I also am a certified "Techspert", training and coach students and teachers to use technology in the classroom, especially Microsoft 365 applications. I am passionate about incorporating innovative technology into my instructions. During my 24-year career in education, I have always worked in a Title I school, had students with disabilities and English Language Learners. The last several years I have worked intensively with struggling readers in reading. I believe all students can make growth with proper instruction, that best suits their specific learning needs and modalities. I also connect my lessons to real life situations and bring in as much background knowledge as possible. After instruction I believe it is a priority to review assessments and overall progress with students, so they can also give input and reflect on their learning. During my free time, I spend as much time with family as possible and my very faithful best friend, my Blue Heeler. I enjoy training dogs, reading, golfing, walking, snorkeling, journaling, exploring new parts of the world and planning my next adventure.
