I've been a professional writer for 30 years. I have a B.A. in Theater Arts from Drew University and an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute. I wrote scripts for tv shows in both New York and L.A. for twenty years, and am now back where I grew up, in New Jersey. Since moving back from L.A, I've had success as both a YA Author (my novel Lazarus, a paranormal thriller, was published by Owl Hollow Press in 2020) and a musical theater librettist (my children's musical Who's Afraid Of the Big Bad Book? was just produced by Birmingham Children's Theater.)
For the past twenty-four years, I've developed a passion for teaching writing. I've taught tv writing at UCLA Extension, The American Film Institute and NYU, screenwriting at Gotham Writers' Workshop and several adult schools, and creative writing at Morristown High School and Long Valley Middle School here in New Jersey.

I love engaging with students, finding out what stories they want to tell and helping them achieve their goals. In every form of writing, I've either done professionally or taught, I go back to my college training in Aristotle's three act structure. I'm currently teaching Writing for the Musical Stage at Drew University.

On the prose side, I've helped my daughter hone her essays, book reports, analysis pieces et al. She's now a freshman at Virginia Tech, and she still runs her homework by Mom.

I love teaching writing in all forms; at this point in my career, it's time to share all I've learned with younger writers. On this platform, I'm prepared to teach either creative writing or prose writing (and also dramatic writing, if there's a call for it.) I'm also available to teach reading.
