I am a graduate of the University of Iowa with a bachelor's degree in Screenwriting Arts and a certificate in Writing. My degree has disciplined me in AP, MLA and Chicago styles of English. I am confident in my ability to engage with all English Language Arts subjects and material. During college, I tutored fellow students, specializing in English, rhetoric and composition. We would work through assignments, checking responses for clarity and grammar, while ensuring each task is completed to the best of the student's ability. Additionally, I would edit essays for students. I read through the essay while leaving my own notes, and then I like to reconnect with students to go over those notes to ask and receive clarifying questions,
My time as a substitute teacher in the Southeast Wisconsin area has honed my ability to think of my feet and familiarized me with a younger audience, specifically 5th grade - 8th grade. I believe there is an importance in continuous practice with occasional breaks for those that may need it. There's nothing that brings me more joy than seeing the growth and development of a struggling student. By strengthening the knowledge pools of our youth, we build a sturdy foundation for our future.
When I'm not working, I like to curl up with a good book and dissolve into the world that awaits me in its pages.
