Certified Tutor

I have a BSEE from Northeastern University and a Master's in Math from Fairfield University. I taught all levels of Math and Physics at Fairfield Prep for 29 years. Currently, I am teaching a course I created at St. Joseph's High School where I teach students to solve their own design problems. I give them basic materials and tools and ask them to build something. An example is a cardboard frame for a toy car with plastic wheels, powered by an elastic band and propeller. They learn to solve problems of friction, alignment, etc. by trying various solutions to see what works best. They don't lose points for designs that don't work. They gain experience.
My goal in tutoring, is to continue to help students understand and appreciate Math and Physics while they learn it, instead of just getting an answer and memorizing for a test. I want students to see that there are patterns for every type of problem that make the solving process easier.
I feel I have the credentials and experience to continue to be an effective tutor.
