I'm a lawyer, writer, editor, and self-professed grammar nerd. I've always had a passion for writing. I was the kid in high school who my English teacher appointed to check other students' assignments (true story!). I received a degree in English from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Fordham University School of Law. In law school, I served as an associate editor for a law journal and wrote briefs for the moot court board. During my 27 year legal career, I've written hundreds of legal briefs, half a dozen legal articles, and even a traditionally-published mystery novel. I also maintain a blog on my website. I enjoy sharing my passions with others, so for several years I taught as an adjunct professor at a local law school and have worked extensively with my own two children (ages 20 and 17) throughout their educations. I take a friendly, laid-back approach to teaching, because students won't learn if they're not comfortable and engaged. Whether your needs are simple - such as general help with writing answers to essay questions or gaining a better understanding of punctuation - or more complex - such as writing a research paper or understanding how to use style guides, I can help. Plus, I've earned an editing certificate from the Poynter Institute and have edited professionally for a number of years. I can assist with all your editing needs.
