Diane T.: St. Charles tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a lifelong communicator helping others find their own voice on the page.
Whether coaching CEOs through media interviews or guiding grade-schoolers on yearbook copy, I love the moment when a student discovers how clear, confident writing can open doors, tell their story and help achieve their goals.
I hold an M.B.A. and a B.A. in Journalism (Public Relations), grounding my practical work with theory and best practices in communication strategy. I tutor broadly in writing and editing, including academic essays, college or business personal statements, correspondence, creative writing, profiles, and more. I am dedicated to helping writers sharpen their own narrative and style, whether for a classroom assignment or their career.
My tutoring philosophy is simple: professional yet approachable and patient yet focused. I create a nonjudgmental space where questions are welcome, mistakes become learning opportunities, and progress is measured not just in grades but in growing confidence. Every session is tailored whether we are diagramming sentence structure, brainstorming strong openings or polishing a final draft. I meet students where they are and build on their strengths.
My experience spans two decades of writing and editing for diverse audiences.
- I have ghost-written for senior leaders and led corporate communication workshops.
- I have helped community groups draft fundraising letters and organizational histories.
- I have crafted everything from press releases and web content at Fortune 500 companies to internal newsletters and video scripts for global broadcasts.

As a professional writer, businesswoman and Mom, I understand busy lives and the value of clear, compelling writing. I am here to make the process efficient, even fun, and to help with writing and editing skills that last a lifetime. Outside of tutoring, you will find me working as a professional communicator, volunteering at my children's schools or spending time with my family. “Helping out” is day-to-day life for me.
