I have worked in education since 2004. I graduated from Lees McRae College with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. While I was working on my degree, I was working as a teacher's assistant in a Pre-K classroom. I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade classrooms. I obtained my Masters in Library Science from East Carolina University. I worked in the Media Center with students from Pre-K through 5th grade. I received my Special Education certificate and have worked with Exceptional Children for the past 3 years. I completed the Lexia LETRS training. I enjoy reading and feel instilling a love of reading in our students is extremely important. I enjoy making learning fun, no matter the subject.

I enjoy spending time with my family. We like to go hiking. There is a really pretty place to hike in Virginia where you can see wild ponies. We also love to go biking, especially at the beach! We love to vacation at Jekyll Island, Georgia. You can ride your bicycle all over the island. I enjoy reading and love reading with my grandson. We always read 4 books at night when he stays with us.
