Certified Tutor

I am a recent graduate of Tufts University in Boston, MA. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Applied Environmental Studies with a focus in Food Systems, Nutrition & the Environment, as well as a minor degree in Portuguese. For the past several years, I've worked as a tutor, educator, and mentor for students K-8 as well as university students, working for the Tufts Student Accessibility and Academic Resources (StAAR) Center as a Head Writing Fellow, and as a Peer Instructor for the Tufts Experimental College. While I tutor for a variety of subjects, I am most passionate about helping students with their writing, bringing out their individual voice and perspectives in papers that are clear, well-supported, and well-organized. I also love working with students on questions of environmentalism, earth science and agriculture, and questions of anthropology and environmental justice. I am a firm believer in the importance of a person's ability to effectively communicate and express themselves, and I work hard in every session to make sure students feel seen, heard, and supported as they communicate their ideas and think critically about their learning. In my spare time, I enjoy reading poetry and science fiction, creative writing, cooking for friends, and gardening while it's warm enough!

I love science fiction in all its forms, from film to TV to literature to games! I also love gardening and plant care, experimenting with cooking new cuisines, and writing poetry and short stories. I'm especially interested in wetlands and swamps, so feel free to ask me about them!
