Paul: Quincy tutor
Certified Tutor
I am an Electrical Engineering student at Washington University in St. Louis with two years of tutoring experience in SAT preparation and STEM subjects. I've had the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds (12 different countries so far) through online platforms, where I led interactive group sessions and one-on-one tutoring, helping students master challenging concepts in math, physics, and reading comprehension.
My passion for tutoring stems from my own journey overcoming academic challenges when I was younger. I've learned how powerful the right strategies and encouragement can be. I aim to help students not just improve their grades or test scores, but also build confidence and develop critical thinking skills they can carry with them long after the session ends.
I particularly enjoy tutoring algebra, physics, calculus, and standardized test prep because they offer opportunities to break down complex problems into intuitive steps. My approach is highly interactive: I encourage questions, tailor explanations to each student's learning style, and aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel empowered to take risks and grow.
Outside of academics, I'm a competitive long-distance runner and environmental advocate.
