I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Melissa: Bradenton tutor

Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of both The University of Pittsburgh and Chatham University, and have received my Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies and my Masters in Sustainable Interior Architecture, respectively. Since graduation, I have moved to the DMV area, where I worked first as a Junior Interior Designer and later as a Sustainable Design Consultant. I also volunteered alongside contractors who focused on Tiny Home builds, and I've traveled abroad with Habitat for Humanity building homes for families in need.

In 2017, I relocated back to the NY/NJ area, where I did some freelance architectural design work for a couple years before landing a teaching position with the New York Institute of Art and Design. There, I've had the pleasure of advising hundreds of students through their Interior Design, Home Staging, AutoCAD and SketchUp course work. My students have consistently been encouraging me to offer one-on-one tutoring for more in-depth instruction than what I am currently able to offer through the school, so I have decided to accept that challenge!

I've always loved the ability to bring my building design ideas to fruition, so I am most passionate about sharing those skills with others who desire the same. AutoCAD, admittedly, is not the most exciting software to learn, but I have developed ways over time to make it more fun and engaging for my students to achieve their goals. I am a firm believer of education, as it is absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy nature walks, meditation, listening to educational podcasts, and spending quality time with my family and loved ones.

I'm looking forward to sharing my CAD knowledge with you all, and for us to start designing together!
