Hello to you!
I am happy to have recently joined Varsity Tutors. While here, my goal is to help your child blossom academically. Seeing your child develop true confidence and master learning objectives that he/she may be struggling with is a true concern as a parent. Personally, I understand the level of patience involved with children that may struggle a bit academically or just need the added encouragement or reinforcement to promote their success in certain subject areas. My own child struggles a bit due to ADHD, but he is doing great now - and I love being able to work with him from home as well. As I briefly mentioned, I have a wealth of experiences from my 20 years spent in the classroom, and I am now thrilled to transition to an online teacher!
Over the course of my teaching career, I have earned many degrees and satisfied many other course requirements. To begin with, I earned my bachelor's degree in early childhood education and paired that with an English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement. Then, I earned my master's degree in early childhood education and went on to acquire an educational specialist degree as well (EdS). Later, I earned a doctoral degree in teaching in learning, and during that time I greatly focused my time and attention towards compiling scholarly literature on the topic of equitably meeting the needs of diverse learners. It is my belief that all learners should be met where they are and provided with the most optimal learning experiences in order for them to make great strides in their academic achievement. All students deserve this!
Having taught many, many grades and a wide variety of subjectsI'll be happy to help your child along their learning journey with attention to detail, appropriate learning tools, and the personal attention that he/she deserves. Again, I am happy to be on board as an online tutor, and I would encourage you to reach out to me with any questions that you may have for me. I will certainly contact you as soon as possible. I believe parents play a key role in their child's learning; should you have input or thoughts you wish to share with me about your child's specific learning needs, I'll be glad to learn about those items. I look forward to working with you and your child! Let's get going!!!
Best!

As a mom, I tend to spend a great deal of time attending my son's many sporting events (running, basketball and swim), and being blessed to work from home, I definitely spend my fair share of time tutoring him in many subjects. My son does struggle with ADHD, so I am very compassionate and understanding of how learning looks different for every type of learner. When I do have some spare time, I enjoy reading, long walks, painting and just relaxing with my family.
