Naomi: Sugar Land tutor
Certified Tutor
As a second-year Education major pursuing a minor in Commercial Music at the University of North Texas, I bring a unique blend of academic excellence and practical experience to my tutoring approach. My journey in education began during my time as a babysitter, where I discovered my natural ability to connect with young learners and create engaging activities that made learning enjoyable. This experience sparked my passion for education and led me to volunteer extensively with elementary school students through church programs and community service initiatives.
My background in music production and vocal performance has equipped me with creative problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in accessible ways. Having excelled academically throughout my educational journey, I understand what it takes to achieve academic success and can effectively guide students toward their own educational goals.
I believe that every student learns differently, and I tailor my teaching approach to meet individual needs. My experience with the Teach for America Ignite program has strengthened my commitment to making education accessible to all students, regardless of background. I combine patience, enthusiasm, and structured teaching methods to create a supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and develop confidence in their abilities.

Music is the cornerstone of my personal interests, with a particular focus on vocal performance and music production. I am currently studying voice at UNT and taking specialized classes in music production and digital audio workstations. These courses are enhancing my technical skills in creating, recording, and mixing music while deepening my understanding of the creative process. My musical background has taught me discipline, attention to detail, and the value of consistent practice—skills I bring to all aspects of my life. Beyond music, I am an active volunteer in my community, dedicating time to various causes including food pantries, church events, and educational initiatives. These experiences have strengthened my interpersonal skills and deepened my understanding of diverse perspectives. In my spare time, I pursue needle felting as a creative outlet that allows me to express my artistic side in a different medium. I also enjoy playing video games occasionally as a way to relax and unwind.
