Certified Tutor

I am a dedicated educator championing creativity and inclusion. A graduate of Lehman College, I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus on Creative Writing. I am currently working toward certifications in Web Design. I have worn many hats in different fields, and my most rewarding one, by far, is education. I started as a substitute teacher and eventually became a first-grade teacher after a long stint as a kindergarten teacher.

While I have taught a wide range of subjects, my first love is English because I have enjoyed reading and writing since childhood. The subjects I tutor include elementary school English and reading, essay editing, kindergarten readiness, phonics, reading, and writing. As you can probably tell, English is my favorite subject to tutor.

My teaching philosophy, which I apply to my tutoring style, is that students learn best when they are excited to learn, so I strive to include subjects and activities that speak to them as individuals. As a shy, gifted student who was often overlooked, I am passionate about making sure that every child finds their voice.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing fiction, video gaming, and exploring a few other hobbies.
