From a young age, I've been fascinated by the world around us, a fascination that fueled my academic pursuits and ultimately led me to studying Civil Engineering for my undergraduate degree and Mechanical Engineering for my Master's, both completed at the University of New Mexico. This journey through the engineering disciplines has not only provided me with a strong foundation in a wide range of technical subjects, but also ignited a passion for learning, teaching, and helping others grow.
My academic background has equipped me with a deep understanding of core engineering principles, spanning areas like statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and structural analysis, among others. Beyond engineering, I also possess a solid grasp of fundamental math and physics concepts. This breadth of knowledge allows me to confidently assist students in a variety of subjects, from introductory math and physics courses to more specialized engineering topics.
Furthermore, my experience as a Teaching Assistant for math and physics courses during my undergraduate studies has honed my ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner. I've learned the importance of patience, empathy, and adapting my teaching style to suit the individual needs of each student. I believe that true understanding comes from fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment, where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring different approaches to problem-solving. My goal is to break down challenging concepts into smaller, more manageable pieces, and guide students through the process of discovery, rather than simply providing answers.
