Lauren: Riverdale tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm a proud graduate of Indiana University. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology. I've had the pleasure of teaching Kindergarten and 6th grade ELA.
In the future, I'm excited to pursue my master's degree in reading and curriculum design.
I became a teacher because I was that child who was left behind and overlooked until middle school. But one of my teachers noticed me and went above and beyond to help me succeed. That experience ignited my passion for teaching!
I know firsthand how challenging it can be to learn with ADHD, anxiety, and dyslexia. I empathize with their frustration and strive to create a supportive learning environment.
I live by this quote: "I don't let my disorders define me. I define my disorders."
I believe that every child learns differently, so I tailor my instructions to meet their unique needs and interests.
I'm a big believer in data-driven decision-making. I'll keep track of all informal and formal assessments to ensure that my students are getting the support they need.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. I'm here to help your child reach their full potential!

I’m a curious person who loves learning new things and having great conversations. When I’m not learning or talking, you can find me with my furry friends, spending time with my family and friends, or getting lost in a good suspenseful crime book. I also enjoy taking my dogs on walks, gardening, and soaking up the sun when it’s warm outside.
