I am a nurse with 18 years of nursing experience and 25 years in healthcare. I was a Medical Assistant before I was a nurse. I obtained my ADN from Excelsior University in 2007. My BSN from Walden University in 2015. My MSN from Walden in Nursing Education in 2018. And my DNP (not a practitioner) from Walden in 2024. I love teaching students and helping nursing students to better understand the materials to be successful in their program. I know that not every student learns the same way, so being willing to try different processes and methods is important. I also know that nursing school is tough and it can be hard on your self-esteem, so I am not here to make you feel bad! I am here to encourage you and help you recognize what you are getting right and how far you have come! My favorite topics to teach in nursing are those covered typically in the first year of nursing school, when everything is foundational and you are just putting the pieces together.

My husband and I ride motorcycles. I love to read. I quilt, can and preserve food, bake, and do other various little crafty things. We have 3 Boxers, 2 Bernedoodles, 2 pond turtles, a Leopard gecko, and 7 kids (33yrs to 11 yrs) and 5 grandkids. We live in Georgia but moved here from the Pacific Northwest in 2022.
