Marilyn: New Rochelle tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of the University of Michigan, where I earned my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Parent-Child Nursing. Since completing my degree, I have worked in pediatric primary care, where I have had the privilege of providing care to children and their families. In addition to my clinical practice, I served as an assistant professor in pediatric nursing, where I teach traditional undergraduate nursing students. I also have the rewarding experience of being a preceptor to nurse practitioner candidates, guiding them as they complete their clinical hours in primary care.
As an educator, I am passionate about helping students develop the critical thinking and communication skills necessary to provide exceptional care. I believe that every student is a unique learner, and I strive to assess how each student learns best, tailoring my approach to their individual needs. I work to help them recognize their assumptions, think through their clinical decisions, and model compassionate communication that emphasizes the psychosocial aspects of care in a primary care setting. My goal is to foster an environment where students can thrive and develop the confidence they need to succeed as future healthcare professionals.
I firmly believe in the power of education and the importance of lifelong learning, both for my students and myself. I am committed to providing high-quality education and care, and I look forward to continuing to grow in both my professional and personal life.

Graduate Degree: University of Michigan-Ann Arbor - Master of Science, Clinical Nurse Specialist
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy listening to educational podcasts during my commute, connecting with friends across the country, and learning how to be a better caregiver to my amazing husband. I also collaborate with him on his new construction projects, assisting with design choices such as lighting, countertops, and finishes. Additionally, I love international travel, particularly seeking opportunities to relax by the beach and paddleboard. Most recently, I’ve been overjoyed to spend time with our new grandchild, who has quickly become a source of great joy in our family.
