I know that finance & accounting can be intimidating to students and other professionals. I've been at it for a long time, so it comes naturally to me. I enjoy using plain English to help others "get it" and also understand why it is important.

My only teaching experience with students was as a guest teacher at my son's college. I spoke about internal controls and break-even analysis since I have done so much with these. But I did a regular teaching session to non-financial managers to help them with some important topics and language.

I went to college at Miami University in Ohio, which is highly rated for its accounting program. I remember walking into Accounting 101 and it was so full that I couldn't find a seat. After a couple weeks, the room had plenty of empty chairs because so many people dropped the class.

As I don't have tutoring experience yet, I can't tell you about that. But I do have a lot of management experience and have done a lot to help develop my employees. I like to let them try to figure it out on their own first and then help as needed. My even-keeled style and plain-English help me gain trust and build a low-stress environment.
