Hello from Texas! I am a professional teacher of English as a second language (ESL). I teach refugees from all over the world at a school here in Houston. In addition to being an experienced language teacher, I am an experienced language learner. I speak Spanish! Some of my beginner classes are conducted almost entirely in Spanish, with English only introduced slowly and over time, as the students get accustomed to the basic sounds of the language. As an adult language learner myself, I well understand the anxiety, and frustration that can accompany the language learning process, but, I also know about the fun parts too!
