Certified Tutor

I have been teaching children since I was in 4th grade helping my mom teach children in church. I have always known I wanted to be a teacher so I went to Faith Baptist Bible College to get a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I also received an Early Childhood endorsement from Drake University. I have taught full time in k-3 classrooms in the states of Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan. I have also taught ESL in China and Saipan. I love teaching children and seeing their passion for learning and the moments that they have when they understand the concept. My favorite subject to teach/tutor is reading and phonics. Helping students understand the basic language sounds and then put those sounds into words is a great passion of mine. When the students realize that they just read a word from using the phonics skills is priceless. I enjoy reading myself and to pass on that knowledge is one of my favorite things.
