Hello all! My name is Johannah Tador and I am a fourth-year student at the University of Florida, double majoring in Political Science and Criminology, with minors in Education Studies and Communication Studies. My academic journey and extracurricular activities have cultivated in me a passion for education, particularly in supporting the growth and development of young students. I am excited to school tutor and hope to positively impact their educational journey.

My commitment to education is rooted in my extensive involvement with the Gainesville community. As a substitute teacher for Alachua County Schools and a volunteer tutor with Kids Count, I have had the privilege of working directly with elementary-aged children, helping them navigate their learning challenges while fostering a supportive and encouraging environment. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the unique academic and emotional needs of young learners and have equipped me with the skills to adapt my teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.

In addition to my hands-on classroom experience, I have served as an intern for Peaceful Paths Domestic Abuse Clinic's Child and Youth Department, where I worked with children facing various challenges behaviorally. This role taught me the importance of active listening in order to build trust and promoting a safe space for children to thrive academically and personally. It has also reinforced my belief in the power of education as a tool for empowerment, especially for students from marginalized or challenging backgrounds.

As a Filipino American who was fortunate enough to pursue higher education, I am very aware of the impact that mentorship and accessible education can have on a child's future. With this, I aim to be that guiding force for students who need encouragement and support to realize their full potential.

I believe that every child has the capacity to excel with the right guidance, and as a tutor, I am committed to helping young students not only succeed academically but also develop a lifelong skills they can use outside of the classroom as well. Therefore, I am confident that my academic background, tutoring experience, and genuine passion for education makes me an excellent fit, and I look forward to making a meaningful difference in the lives of all the children I tutor!
