I am a graduate of IT field from India, where I received an Bachelors degree. I also worked as a Tutor for College and Professionals during 2K, teaching programming and computer methodologies. Now I am a Kumon elementary teacher teaching pre-K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades for Reading and Math in private classroom center setting. I am passionate about teaching elementary children and helping them master fundamental skills. I particularly enjoy working on basic number concepts, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and all aspects of language development, especially spelling, grammar, and free writing. I love to use games or other creative methods to peak student interest and give them a solid understanding of CONCEPTS rather than sets of formulas, rules, etc, without the knowledge to manipulate or apply them. My philosophy is process-oriented rather than product oriented (outcome ONLY), with an emphasis on taking the student from the level he/she is and generating marked improvement over time. It thrills me to see the light in students' eyes when they grasp a difficult concept or realize their own potential for success!
