Alicia: Orange County tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Tyler Junior College and Texas A&M University at Commerce, and I tutored students as a job in both colleges as well. With a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, I have excelled in both math and programming courses and also have experience in learning skills outside of class.
Though I mostly have experience in tutoring students in college math classes, I can also teach programming basics and fundamentals, especially in website development and C++, and I enjoy the process of learning and teaching both subjects because math and computer science follow similar lines of logic and also require an element of problem solving that I enjoy.
In terms of tutoring, I prefer to ask questions and get to the root of why a client is struggling with a topic, which may include reteaching topics from earlier subjects to rectify misunderstandings, and I believe in approaching most subjects with the same idea of curiosity. Additionally, one of the greatest benefits of tutoring, personally, is the ability to work on a smaller scale and therefore personalize the information and resources much easier for every student; I greatly enjoy seeing when a client understands a topic they've been struggling with.

Other than math and programming, my interests include knitting, casually playing video games, and learning new skills, whether in art or computer science. Additionally, I dabble in writing occasionally and read less often than I'd like.
