Austin: Lower East Side tutor
Certified Tutor
I hold a B.A. in Political Economics from Columbia University and two master's degrees in Education (with a focus on mathematics) and Finance. With over 20 years of experience in education, I have been dedicated to helping students succeed, including six years as a certified middle school math teacher in a NYC DOE public school in the South Bronx.
My journey in education began in high school, where I worked at my father's Sylvan Learning Center. During college, I founded a successful tutoring company specializing in middle school to college-level math, ELA, standardized test preparation, and college admissions support. After a successful career in investment banking, where I served as a Vice President at top-tier firms, I transitioned to full-time teaching.
Since the COVID-19 lockdown, I have embraced digital learning, discovering that it is the most effective approach for enhancing student outcomes. By leveraging technology to gamify lessons, I have seen significant improvements in student engagement and success. I believe that with the right teacher and a little practice, math and test-taking can be both easy and enjoyable!
