Certified Tutor

I am a Sam Houston State University alumni. I have a BS in Psychology and recently completed my MA in Experimental Psychology in conjunction with a Certificate of Adult Education.
I have been teaching academic and non-academic settings since I was 12 years old in roles such as a martial arts, dance, and sailing instructor before further pursuing teaching opportunities as a student-athlete tutor during my undergraduate degree. More recently, I worked as a graduate assistant while completing my masters in which I dedicated many hours presenting guest lectures, formatting assignments, and implementing study strategies for undergraduate psychology students.
As a teacher, my goal is to develop students' critical thinking skills and emphasize the concepts' relevance in modern society. I want my students to understand, apply, and formulate questions regarding how concepts and theories relate to society. I formulated my teaching interests and skills through teaching and studying the principles of teaching via the Adult Education Certificate program at Sam Houston State University (SHSU).
My teaching and work experience covers various psychology topics. Specifically, I am qualified to teach undergraduate courses social psychology, cognitive psychology, introductory psychology, learning psychology, developmental psychology, and statistics. I am particularly eager to teach a social psychology course since that is the focus of my research interests.
