A friendly and thoughtful tutor, Lydia loves helping her students learn and grow to their highest potential. She holds a BS in child development and medicine health & society, with a minor in Russian from Vanderbilt University and a teaching license from the Ohio Department of Education. As a college student, Lydia volunteered in educational settings and worked in a psychology research lab. She has been working in education as a teacher and tutor since 2017 and is currently pursuing an MEd in education with a focus in TESOL and special education from Cleveland State University. Lydia is a certified Barton Tutor and a certified Orton Gillingham instructor.

Lydia's favorite part about tutoring is when a student grasps a new concept and masters something that was previously frustrating to them. When teaching, she prioritizes a growth mindset by encouraging students to remember that learning is the goal and that all effort makes them stronger. She also has extensive training in various learning styles and multi-sensory education. Although her educational background is in English and psychology, she is an expert math and test prep tutor and loves using her knowledge to help students make significant improvements in their test scores and grades.

She is passionate about making eco-friendly lifestyle changes to reduce her carbon footprint.
