I have spent over 20 years in education, passionately working in the reading world. Reading is a complex process that intertwines language comprehension and word recognition. Within each strand lies concrete skills that all students must understand and master. Students need to be equipped with strategies and targeted learning goals to navigate the complexities of learning how to read, and then they can overcome their reading difficulties. Students need to read in a safe space and recognize how their brain works through the reading process.

I love to read, and I love instilling the love of reading in students. I am happiest when outside: hiking, paddle boarding, reading at the beach, or exploring different areas. I am passionate about high school sports and love supporting my son's athletic endeavors.
