Hello! I'm Kay, and I'm passionate about helping young learners achieve their full potential in reading and math. With a Doctorate in Education and a Master's degree in elementary education, I bring both academic expertise and a love for teaching to every session. My focus is on helping students build strong foundational skills in these critical subjects.

I specialize in tutoring students in kindergarten readiness and elementary education with a strong focus on reading, writing, and math. I work with young learners, adult students, and small groups to build confidence, improve skills, and develop a love of learning. What I offer includes: Reading & Writing Instruction: phonics, decoding, comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, creative and academic writing. Math Tutoring: number sense, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and math fluency; Test Prep: early standardized tests, and school entrance exams; Group Classes; Academic Coaching: goal setting, organization, confidence building; Adult Literacy and Education: ESL, foundational reading and math skills, writing for work or daily life; I use differentiated teaching style that meets each learner where they are.

I integrate fun, and real-world connection to keep students motivated and engaged. My hobbies include, arts and crafts, cooking and baking, yoga and mindfulness and storytelling. I'm here to support learners with patience, enthusiasm and proven strategies. Whether your student needs help catching up, getting ahead, or preparing for a big test, I will work with the student and their families to build the skills and mindset needed to succeed!
