Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Christopher Newport University and Eastern Mennonite University. I received my Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education and Bachelor of Arts in Art History, as well as Master's in the Art of Teaching with teacher licensure at CNU. I received my Master's of Education in Trauma and Resilience, as well as certificate in Restorative Justice at EMU. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively with my military husband, taught elementary general music as well as beginning band in several school districts on the east coast. While I taught elementary general music, I am equally as passionate about Art History, Music Theory, and many other arts-related subjects. In my experience teaching, students learn the most and the best from a person who is intentional, relational and someone they can really trust to be open and honest with them. I have always wanted to be an educator, wanting my students to be life-long "appreciaters" of the topic they are learning and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I greatly enjoy reading a myriad of different genres, solving Sudoku, playing Wordle and watching my nephew play travel baseball year-round.
