I enjoy watching my students gain confidence in themselves, as their grasp of drawing grows. As a young man, my grandmother gave me a book of Michelangelo's drawings, and I spent many hours copying and learning from the great master. At Rhode Island School of Design I spent many fulfilling hours drawing from life. Later, at American University, I developed a passion for sculpting. Learning to draw well is essential to individual development, as it teaches critical observation, processing and interpreting skills. Drawing is fundamental to self expression in much the same way as learning the alphabet is the key to reading and writing. I look forward to meeting.
