I am currently a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) and have completed a graduate certificate in Creative Writing. I received two master's degrees from St Mary's University (Texas): English Literature and Communication Studies.

Before pursuing a Ph.D., I was a communications/public relations professional. During my time in my last communications position, I became an adjunct instructor. Because of this experience, I knew that the classroom was where I wanted to spend the rest of my career. I left my communications career and accepted a fellowship to earn a Ph.D., and I aimed to teach a different course every academic year.
