Certified Tutor

I am a Hong Kong native with Cantonese and Mandarin as my native language. I learned English from a young age so I speak, write, and listen fluently. I am also trained as an architect and ux designer. I worked with autocad and rhino all the time when I was in architecture school. I worked as a ux designer for 3+ years, have seen many projects to fruition under my watch. Now I work as a conversation designer, designing chatbot and voice assistant for engaging user experiences. I love teaching because I am a deep believer in teaching = learning. They go hand in hand. While I teach I am learning from my students as well. I've taught since graduate school as a digital media instructor, teaching architecture student basic adobe photoshop, illustrator, in design and so on to help polish their portfolio for job interviews. When I was working as an architect, I spent time teaching design at local colleges on top of my full time job. That proved my passion for teaching. When I got into ux, I became a ux tutor with the boot camp that I went to. I've been reviewing and approving student submissions since 2020. Often time, I commented on their presentation as well, including their writing and images. On top of that, I also volunteered to be a mentor on Adplist, helping career changers get a foot in ux. My teaching style is quite personal. I don't just share 1 way information. I want to encourage my students to think for their own solutions and opinion by guiding them through the thinking process. Outside of academia, I like to read, box, and dance! I received my masters of architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design and my bachelors degree from Middlebury college in Vermont. So my life experience is quite diverse!
