Certified Tutor

I am currently an undergraduate student, attending the University of the Incarnate Word; working towards receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Art, with a minor in Art History. My first experience in tutoring was during the Pandemic; everything was through Zoom. At the time I was attending Palo Alto Community College; it was through their work-study program that I was able attained the position as both tutored and art teacher. The school I worked with at the time was with Benavides ISD. I tutored 1st, 3rd, and 4th graders in math, in addition to this I was also a remote art teacher for 3rd, 4th, and 6th graders. Even with limited resources, I was able to keep my kiddos both entertain and engaged in learning. Furthermore, I am very passionate about art and I love how art itself can be very therapeutic. So I was really grateful to have the opportunity to teach art to these amazing students, especially during a difficult year; it really touched my heart to see them be both expressive and creative.
