I am passionate about empowering students because I've seen firsthand the impact of educational inequality. Graduating from a prestigious secondary school in Hong Kong, I recognized the disparity in access to quality education. This ignited a deep sense of empathy toward those deprived of educational opportunities, driving my commitment to ensure everyone receives the best possible education.
My tutoring journey spans both paid and volunteer experiences, totaling 9 months. I've guided a year 1 student in English for 2 months, fostering foundational skills. Additionally, I volunteered for 7 months, tutoring three year 10-11 students in GCSE maths, aiming to strengthen their grasp on the subject.
My educational journey began in Hong Kong, culminating in my current pursuit of a "BA History and International Relations" degree at the University of Exeter.
I specialize in tutoring GCSE maths, 11+, English as a second language, and History, aligning with my familiarity with these subjects' curriculums. However, my favorite subject to tutor is Mathematics. Beyond its immediate applications, it nurtures vital skills like logical deduction, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning crucial for various careers.
My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere. I believe students excel when they're comfortable and enjoy learning rather than being force-fed information. Encouragement and confidence-building are pivotal; I strive to incentivize students to aim high and become tomorrow's leaders through education.
Beyond academics, my interests include music, sports, and reading. These facets add depth to my life, fostering personal fulfillment and augmenting my thirst for knowledge. Recognizing that real-life lessons extend beyond textbooks, these pursuits enrich my understanding of life itself.
I'm dedicated to ensuring every student I encounter receives the guidance and support they need to succeed, not just academically, but holistically.

Listening to Music is one of my favorite hobbies to do, not only does it soothes both the mind and the body, it gives me a sense of determination and willpower to get things done. Reading is also one of my favorite hobbies to do, I love to learn more about subjects/topics/questions I am not familiar with, as it gives me a sense of what I should know and not know about a particular topic. It also satisfies my sense of curiosity, as learning more about how the world works makes me more adapt and capable to live a fulfilling and satisfying life.
