My teaching career has taken several different paths along the way, all of which have provided me with a wealth of experience in teaching Language Arts for students Prek-8. I am a certified Language Arts teacher and have a Master's Degree in Education from Towson University. I am the Resource Director in a Prek-8 school, where I help students with Reading, Writing and Math. I have completed the Orton-Gillingham Plus course and have experience working on a curriculum for students with dyslexia and other language-based differences. I became very interested in understanding and working with students who have learning challenges. I believe all students can become independent readers and I want to use my knowledge and expertise to help them. I think if you asked my students about me, they would say I make learning fun! I always try to incorporate a game or fun activity as part of our lesson to keep my students engaged. I love being a teacher!

I live in Annapolis, Maryland and my husband and and I race our sailboat, "Afterschock." I also enjoy traveling, especially to visit my daughter who is a nurse in Nashville, TN. I love spending time with my friends and my English Bulldog, Sydney. Of course I love reading and keeping up on the current books for young adults. We have a contest every year at my school called "The Battle of the Books." My personal favorite author is Roald Dahl. Finally, I spend a good deal of time keeping up with current research and trends in teaching reading because I love learning!
