Certified Tutor

I have been working with students for seven years and have more recently taught and mentored undergraduate and secondary students in English Literature, Film Studies, History, and general study skills. I have also completed the Staff and Educational Development Association-accredited 'Developing Learning and Teaching' course at the University of Oxford, and been mentored in teaching by a University of Oxford Faculty of English professor.

I have just submitted a PhD thesis at the University of Oxford in 1920s and 1930s British cinema. I also have a masters degree (distinction) from the University of Cambridge in Film and Screen Studies, and BA (first) in English Language and Literature. I love English literature, History and Film Studies and would love to enable students in these areas of any level to reach their highest potential!

My approach to tutoring is based in facilitation rather than handing out information - I want to help you learn the skills to succeed and methods for learning and improving. I also believe we learn best if our teaching or tutoring is tailored to our individual needs and aims. Finally, I place open communication and honest feedback at the heart of my tutoring, and we will regularly review to ensure that you are getting the most out of our sessions.
