Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of The University of Houston. I received my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics and a Master's in Business Administration.

I am passionate about helping students because I saw many talented smart students and my peers fail engineering school due to either lack of discipline, failure to practice or poor work ethic. I was never a good, standardized test taker but I usually performed well in the classroom due to discipline, structure, practice, and work ethic. While in school I tutored teens, adults, and kids in a variety of math subjects because if you can teach the material, it makes it easier to retain the information and help others. I also completed 5 internships for major oil and gas companies while attending college which prepared me for work after college. My teaching and tutoring style is customized for the student based on their needs.

I have about 18 years of experience working as an engineer in a diverse set of assignments in oil and gas upstream across cultural, geographical, and business segments domestically and abroad. My experience includes roles in facilities engineer such as project management, field engineering, asset retirement, process safety engineering, management of change, operations engineer, contractor interface, major capital project front end engineering design, detailed engineering design and package engineering. I also spent 5 years in Drilling and Completions offshore rig-based operations learning skills such as well plug and abandonment, material and personnel logistics offshore, contractor management, work packs, performance initiatives, e-colors, and leadership. I have travelled to more than 16 countries while volunteering and mentoring students in various subjects such as Math for example. On a side note, I'm a certified SCRUM Master and I have my life and health insurance license. I enjoy chess, learning, investing, travelling overseas, lifting weights, and helping others.
