I like teaching because I enjoy sharing my knowledge with like minded people. With 20+ years experience in the software industry I have used most of the popular operating systems, languages and methodologies.I started teaching/tutoring 10 years ago and have taught in classrooms and online, from complete beginners to advanced programming. The courses I teach range from An introduction to computing, business apps (email, word, excel etc), to web (javascript/html/css), database systems (sql/nosql), game programming (scratch/roblox/unity) and 3d modelling and animation (blender). Also happy to provide help with specific issues and bug fixing on a one off basis.I have a degree in engineering electronics from Warwick university and a teaching qualification from South Leicestershire college. I like to teach by example, demonstrating techniques to get a student up and running as quickly as possible, to a position where they can continue to work and explore by themselves to increase their knowledge. I encourage students to experiment little and often, regular repetition being the secret to memory retention which leads to comprehension, allowing the student to be creative and realise their own goals.
