Amy
Certified Tutor
I believe strongly in the exponential growth potential of each of my students, and helping them reach their goals and outcomes. My mission is to not only educate, but instill attributes of resourcefulness, resilience and joy in learning.
Since I was young, my dream occupation was to become a teacher. This became a reality after refining my subject area focus and earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Technology and Engineering Education from Brigham Young University (Provo). After completing my student-teaching in Washington, D.C., I was qualified a Secondary Education certification. Since my early career as a full-time teacher, I've taught Computer Graphics, Computer Programming I, Introduction to Computer Science, Video Game Development and Mobile App Development to grades 9-12, as well as Math Intervention for Pre-Algebra, grades 6-8. As an Academic Technology Specialist, I've also consulted faculty and administration on embedding technology practices into their curriculum development and classroom instruction, while honing my skillset in IT, hardware troubleshooting and server-side software/cloud application management.
I love blending my passion of education and in-demand technical skills, while utilizing emerging technology to enhance the learning experience. I greatly look forward to being your tutor!
