I did my A levels in 2019, studying Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry and attaining As and A*s. Since then, I have been working towards an integrated Masters degree in Mathematics at Oxford University. Most recently I attained a 2.1 grade for my first 3 years, and I am about to enter my 4th and final year on the programme.
I teach Physics and Chemistry up to GCSE and Mathematics up to A level, with my main subject of interest being mathematics. To me, the fact that starting with only a pen, paper, your mind, and some creative ideas you can discover powerful mathematical truths and build useful scientific tools is what I find so great about the subject. From such humble beginnings anyone can contribute to humanity's scientific knowledge like this. My teachers inspired me to be curious and love the sciences, and I want to try and pass on that inspiration to other people as best I can.
When teaching, I want to push the boundaries of the given syllabus whilst also acknowledging that every pupil learns at their own pace. What you learn in school typically doesn't display the true colours of the subject, so by showing students inciteful videos and working through non-traditional problems, I hope I can stimulate a greater academic intrigue in the student; however, properly understanding the ins and outs of a topic is the main point of teaching, so making sure my students understand a topic well before moving onto the next is a priority. This is the approach I took with my first pupil last summer, an 11-year-old boy, when teaching him science and maths. Many a time lessons would be spend discussing ideas and thoughts which sprung up from the material I was teaching, but I never failed to make sure he learnt what he needed to for school and overall he enjoyed my lessons.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you consider me as a tutor. Happy learning.

Science is of course an interest of mine. When I’m not studying maths I do enjoy watching science documentaries online or videos explaining maths topics in visually fun ways. YouTube channels like “Veritasium” and “3Blue1Brown” provide great content like this. In addition, I enjoy watching movies a fair bit. With the number of genres out there you can always find one to fit the mood you’re feeling, and after doing maths for a long time it can be really nice to relax with something more artsy.
