While being in a classroom for 16 years as a teacher in the field of Special Education and co-teaching in the general education classroom, I've taught many students with varying ability levels. The most important thing I've learned is that regardless of a student's current ability level, they have the potential for growth that exceeds any of their preconceived notions. I've seen it with my own eyes. It breaks my heart to see a student give up on themselves. Everyone learns differently. I want to help each student find their own way of learning in order to reach their goals.
