I've been a STEM educator for over three years, both as a private math tutor and as a science museum educator. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University's Honors College in 2019, where I double majored in Economics and Religious Studies. Even though I studied social sciences, I spent most of childhood as an avid "STEM kid" and still consider myself a total math and science nerd.
I enjoy the challenge of making math more enjoyable and less stressful for my students. I like working with younger students because I know having a strong foundation in elementary math and algebra is crucial for later academic success, but I enjoy strengthening core math skills for anybody who needs the support. I believe education should be as playful, comfortable, and shame-free as possible, so I'm a great match for students who are anxious, unmotivated, or embarrassed about their academic performance.
I competed in Science Olympiad in middle and high school, and have previously coached a middle school student for Math Olympiad. I enjoy helping with extracurricular activities and other forms of academic enrichment, so let me know if that's something you're interested in!

I love making art and learning new crafts (like beading, crocheting, and sewing), exploring nature, spending time with animals, doing logic and math puzzles, watching YouTube, and learning more about my favorite subjects (religious studies, STEM, economics, and history).
