I earned by Bachelor of Science in Biology and Religious Studies from Ursinus College in 2016 and my Master of Arts in Geography from the University of Guelph in 2018. I had an overwhelmingly positive and personal educational experience. Teachers cared about, believed in, and endlessly supported their students. Meaningful discourse, encouraging creativity and curiosity, and a sincere excitement for learning were the norm, and I want to help create this environment for students. I've taught and coached high school and college students and athletes over the past five years. I enjoy teaching Geography, Environmental Studies, Biology, English and Writing. I particularly enjoy working with students to improve their critical reading and writing skills, which not only benefit them throughout their education but in all aspects of their life. I believe in education that is spirit-centered and heart forward, where I get to know my students as gifted, unique, human beings with passions, joys, interests, and fears all their own. I believe in education that reconnects us with the environment, facilitates critical globally minded and culturally inclusive dialogue, and prepares students with valuable life and interpersonal skills to live and serve as compassionate leaders in their communities. In my free time, I enjoy reading, rock climbing, playing piano, singing, running, visiting coffee shops, and spending quality time with my partner. My non-academic professional experience also includes working in the conservation sector as a social science researcher, supporting Indigenous-led conservation, and being the lead editor for an online literary magazine and creative community called COALESCE Community, which focuses on connecting people and cultivating compassion through personal human stories and creative exploration.
