I've always enjoyed nature and learning about living things. I graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Univ. of Alabama in Huntsville, and my M.S. in Biology (human genetics) from Boise State University. I completed five years of education in Microbial Ecology from Baylor University. I have worked in a variety of fields since my first college degree, and I have published and taught in subjects ranging from Microbiology, Introductory Biology, and Genetics. In terms of teaching and tutoring, I believe I am strongest in Microbiology and General Biology, with Genetics coming in a close third. My broad interests and background make me an effective teacher to students of various ages and backgrounds, and my passion for Biology shows through when I teach or talk about the subject. I enjoy helping students to reach that "aha!" moment when things click. I am good at identifying where missing information or misunderstandings are hindering learning, and I encourage students to have fun while engaging their subject matter.
