At the core of my teaching philosophy is the belief that knowledge retained, is knowledge that can be put to future use by the student and (through their interaction) to members of society at large. With research literature indicating that less than 5% of college instruction is retained post-graduation, the educator's challenge is to make their instruction memorable to students. I believe this is achieved by offering a course of instruction that is intellectually stimulating, to best ensure that it is retained and highly relevant to the needs and future employment professions of my students.

In my 20+ years as an educator, I have strived to ensure that my course of instruction is regarded as "value added" to my students who are, or soon will be in, the business community. With well over 40 years as a businessman in many capacities I have developed a sense of what is important in achieving management and marketing goals, and this "hands on" information is what I strive to impart to students. By constantly challenging them, I encourage them to utilize my course data in the future pursuit of employment opportunities in the business community. Related to this, it is important to impart an appreciation of the diversity and background that all students bring to my classes, as such diversity will characterize the future workplaces (and the world at large) of all students.

In summary, I believe an optimal educator is one who imparts their knowledge with insight, passion, and personal experience, engaging and challenging each student to contribute according to their own background and experience. I am comfortable that I have succeeded in this mission thus far, and hope to impart the same to future students in the years to come.
