I am currently a college senior graduating this May with a B.A in Secondary Education and English with honors status. I'll also be graduating with a minor in Political Science. I spend most of my time student-teaching at a NYC public high school in Queens, NY where I am able to work closely with a mentor as I plan and conduct lessons. I have always had a passion for teaching and plan to continue furthering my education in order to expand and perfect my skills. Aside from my degree program, I have experience working with groups of up to 6 elementary-age students through a virtual classroom platform. The most important part of teaching for me is showing students what they are capable of by challenging them, keeping them engaged and excited to learn, and providing them with the necessary support, so they never feel like something is impossible. My goal is to teach students how to be independent, lifelong learners.

Hobbies

I love the outdoors: going hiking, biking, swimming, on a picnic, or simply for a jog when the weather is nice. I also like to visit museums, art exhibits, or new restaurants with friends on the weekends. In my free time at home, I'll write poetry, write & edit articles for my school newspaper, read, cook, paint, or catch up on my favorite shows.
